The MSGA Scholarship Fund

The MSGA Caddie Scholarship Fund was established in 1950 to assist caddies and former caddies in financing their college education.

Sometime in the 1970s the word "Caddie" was dropped from the name and the eligibility requirements were changed. The Scholarship Fund currently helps about 40 Maine scholars. Scholarships newly awarded in 1999 were for $1000 per year and are available for four years if the recipient remains in good academic standing. Both male and female students may apply. The general eligibility requirements are as follows:

Applicant must demonstrate an active interest in golf: participation in golf at the school or club level, caddieing regularly, golf shop or course maintenance employment.

    2. Applicant must demonstrate financial need.

Applicant must be a graduate or prospective graduate of an accredited Maine secondary school.

Applicant must be outstanding in character, integrity, and leadership as demonstrated by participation in extra-curricular, civic, or community activities.

Students already in college may apply. To view the year 2000 application, click here.

Filing deadline is April 1, 2000.
